Test Engineer

Description:
Develop the test capability for a Unit Under Test (UUT). This job will entail analyzing a test requirement, UUT schematics, reviewing legacy test designs, developing a test concept for hardware and software followed by a concept review, then developing a detailed hardware design where the Interface Test Adapter (ITA) and cables will be designed. A Printed Wiring Board (PWB) may need to be designed to go inside the ITA. Tolerance analysis will be required to verify test equipment can meet test requirement accuracy. Engineer will write a validation plan detailing how the design meets the test requirements. A Hardware Implementation Review will be held to ensure design completeness and that proper engineering principles were followed.

Test engineer needs to be a self starter who is highly motivated and able to initiate contact with other disciplines to get the job done. Contributes to the completion of specific programs and projects. Frequent inter-organizational and outside customer contacts. Represents the organization in providing solutions to difficult technical issues associated with specific projects. Provides technical solutions to a wide range of difficult problems. Solutions are imaginative, thorough, and practicable, and consistent with organization objectives.

Mandatory Skills:
Bachelors degree from an accredited college in a related discipline. Minimum 10 years of engineering experience. Requires experience in designing Interface Test Adapters (ITAs), test station and ITA schematic design and layout . Design of Printed Wiring Boards (PWB). Must be a U.S. Citizen.

Desired Skills:
Flight hardware (i.e. the product) design. High-speed communication. Troubleshooting flight hardware. Programming in National Instruments TestStand, LabWindows/CVI and Labview FPGA.
