System Safety Engineer

Description:
Description: Support lead system safety engineer(s) to promote safety as an attribute of design for complex, safety critical systems under development for the H-60 / Combat Rescue Helicopter product line. Candidates must have experience working with Product Development Teams in order to influence hardware and software design and produce and/or update the following deliverables:

- Safety Assessment Reports
- System & Subsystem Safety Analyses
- Functional Hazard Assessments
- Hazard Tracking Records

Duties include applying scientific and engineering principles and experience to identify potential safety hazards and working with engineering disciplines to eliminate and/or mitigate identified hazards.

The candidate must be able to communicate both verbally, and through written presentations, to the Product Development Teams, Management, and External Customers.

Candidate must have a working knowledge of MIL-STD-882 and/or SAE ARP4761. Knowledge of AR 385-10, DA PAM 385-16 is a plus. Experience in aviation/rotary wing design, maintenance, and/or operations desired but not essential.
