ESTIMATOR-Handling Equipment

This position is responsible for providing the sales personnel a formal price for the equipment the customer is requesting, in the form of a written quote, by utilizing the information received from various teams within the company including Sales, Applications, Engineering and Electrical. 
Work with purchasing team and outside vendors to obtain equipment pricing.
Compile and maintain equipment pricing in the sales directory for future projects.
Issue quote numbers for reach new RFQ’s and create quote folders in the sales directory.
Maintain weekly quote list and quote log list.
Research and evaluate suppliers based on price, quality, selection, service, support, availability, reliability, production and distribution capabilities, and the supplier's reputation and history.
Analyze quotes to ensure accuracy for presentation to customers.  
Schedule project hand-off meeting once PO is issued by clients with Project Manager.
Assist with applications of RFQ’s by working with engineering, controls and the sales teams.
Create order acknowledgements of projects as they become formal company projects.
Create product change order pricing for current projects as projects change.
Maintain and review computerized or manual records of items purchased, costs, deliveries, product performance, and inventories.
Review catalogs, industry periodicals, directories, trade journals, and Internet sites and consult with other department personnel to locate necessary goods and services.
Interview vendors and visit suppliers to learn about products, services, and prices.
Other duties as assigned. 
Education Required: Bachelor's Degree or 5+ years in material handling, automation, and/or packaging equipment. 
Experience Required:  
Prior experience in conveyors and/or material handling equipment.  Experience in the tissue and/or food and beverage industry is preferred. 
2-3 years of estimating experience with a knowledge of conveyor equipment preferred
Ability to read component drawings and line layouts
Knowledge of AutoCad viewing programs and Inventor
Strong interpersonal and communication skills, excellent decision making skills and the ability to conceive and implement innovative solutions.
Well-developed written and verbal communication skills for interactions with diverse groups of people inside/outside of the corporation.
Strong analytical and organizational skills with a proven ability to analyze information and evaluating results to choose the best solution and solve problems.
Computer literate in Microsoft Office applications such as Access, Excel, and Word
Travel 20% to 25%
