Aircraft Network Security Systems and IMS Specialist

Ideal candidate should have at least 10 years’ experience on commercial or business aircraft, and be proficient with Aircraft Networking Security to include but not limited to: 

  • Plan for security Aspects of Certification Identify definition and schedule of major milestones
  • Coverage analysis of RTCA DO-326A, RTCA DO-356, RTCA DO-355, ARINC-811 and ARINC-664
  • Generate Aircraft Security Scope definition (perimeter, security environment)
  • Elaborate Equipment Interface Analysis
  • Elaborate Aircraft Security Risk Assessment
  • Prepare Verification Plan and SOW for System verification
  • Generate System security verification and test results and analysis
  • Familiar with the Rockwell Collins Proline Fusion platform

Position Purpose:
Guides successful completion of major engineering activities related to the development and certification of the Network Security Systems and Information Management System (IMS) on the aircraft.

Essential Functions: 

  1. Provides engineering oversight and/or dispositions of Aircraft Networking Security  for the Production build
  2. Contributes to planning, coordinating and executing important engineering activities with team members, other groups, and suppliers
  3. Prepares and reviews necessary documents such as, but not limited to: system level requirements, equipment specifications, source control drawings, electrical interface control documents, wiring diagrams, certification plans, ground and flight test procedures, etc.
  4. Selects appropriate methods, techniques, and evaluation criteria to resolve complex engineering issues.
  5. Provides specialized technical assistance to team members.
  6. Anticipates and resolves complex issues in creative and effective ways, developing standards and guides for diverse engineering activities.
  7. Is able to balance technical activities with cost and schedule.
  8. Works under limited supervision; work should only be required to be reviewed for accuracy and consistency with meeting overall objectives.
  9. Determine cert basis, including results of Change Impact Analysis, if any
  10. Determine acceptable means of compliance
  11. Determine the A/C security perimeter and A/C information assets
  12. Identify information interfaces and existing security measures
  13. Define the roles and organizations that interact with the A/C
  14. Determine the A/C security environment
  15. Identify and classify the threat sources
  16. Identify preliminary external agreements (e.g. operator requirements, maintenance requirements)
  17. Evaluate security risk from intentional unauthorized electronic interaction
  18. Inform design groups of need for security measures or security guidance
  19. Identify all threat conditions associated with the A/C assets
  20. Assess the A/C security architecture and requirements
  21. Allocate security measures to systems or operator guidance
  22. Prepare Verification Plans for system security and security effectiveness requirements
