Summary:
Conduct operational testing and troubleshooting of avionics and aircraft systems.
Install and functionally test electrical/avionics components and systems per engineering specifications and maintenance manuals.
Perform quality assurance to ensure defect-free installations; troubleshoot and repair system discrepancies.
Use approved techniques for wiring repairs, such as splicing, soldering, and pinning.
Implement and comply with engineering changes and modifications as required.
Set up and operate test equipment; perform functional and reliability tests.
Document all work performed to ensure readiness for inspection.
Maintain and test electronic systems and test equipment.
Follow company safety protocols, including the FOD program, tool control program, and 5-S standards.
Adapt to schedule changes and other operational demands.
Support aircraft certification and final phase testing, including flight tests as needed.
Troubleshoot and operate systems outside avionics, such as hydraulics, landing gear, and flight controls.
Read and interpret blueprints and schematic diagrams.
Communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.
Perform physical tasks, including climbing stairs/ladders, working in confined spaces, and lifting up to 50 lbs.
Required Skills
High School Diploma or GED.
4 years of experience in an avionics/electrical career field OR
2 years of accredited schooling in aviation electronics plus 2 years of related experience.
Technical proficiency in avionics/electrical systems testing, troubleshooting, and repair.
Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, maintenance manuals, and schematics.
Strong communication and organizational skills.
Physical ability to perform tasks in confined spaces and on elevated platforms.
Desired Skills
FAA Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) license (preferred).
FCC certification (preferred).
NCATT certification (preferred).
Proficiency in operating and troubleshooting non-avionics systems, such as hydraulics and environmental controls.
Familiarity with flight testing processes.
Experience with splicing, soldering, and wiring repair techniques.
