Role and Responsibilities:

• Obsolescence management for electronics and mechanical components
• Lead the design of complex electronic mechanical system including defining the architecture, schematics development through to manufacturing establishment.
• Systems approach to problem definition, scoping and solving
• Implementing hardware changes, proactive handling of EOL components.
• Root-causing of failures for market returns, participating in problem solving process.
• Hardware testing and troubleshooting, including board bring-up, design of test tooling and adaptation of existing platforms to new specifications.
Experience:
• Experience in design, development, prototyping, testing and transfer to production of complex Electronics/Mechanical systems
• Manage obsolescence for off-the-shelf (OTS) components to include: motors, pumps, actuators, solenoids, hard drives, sensors, heaters, monitors and printers
• Experience in systems integration including hardware and software
• Experience using mechanical design software.
• Experience in Circuit design and ECAD tools Eg. Altium Designer
• Demonstrated ability to deliver products in a regulated environment and the phase gate process
• In Vitro Diagnostics (IVD) industry device development highly preferred
• Familiarity with international standards e.g. ISO 9001, ISO 13485, IEC 61010, IEC 60601, and FDA QSR regulations

Required Skills:
Pro-active update the design of electronic sub-assemblies to resolve obsolescence
Identify relevant requirements from medical device standards and In depth knowledge of regulatory procedures that affect methods and techniques to solve issues when creating designs.
Strong knowledge of fundamentals regarding electronic components and circuits
Systems integration including Electronics and Mechanical hardware
Proficiency with electrical test equipment; oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, etc.
Excellent understanding of mechanical, thermal, electrical, and optical designs and components, and their interactions as a system to meet system performance requirements
Proficiency in analog and digital circuit design including signal processing, a/d, d/a, power circuits
Experience with mechanical design software.
Familiarity with international standards e.g. ISO 9001, ISO 13485, IEC 61010, IEC 60601-1 and IEC 60601-1-2 and FDA QSR regulations
Adherence to OH&S requirements: Safe use of potentially hazardous equipment, liquids etc.
