What You’ll Do:

Assess and resolve product/process issues through the product lifecycle.
Lead research of technical, operational and quality issues that cannot be resolved by customer and designs interim and final engineering solutions.
Direct cross-functional teams to analyze, conduct root cause analysis and develop dispositions for complex design non-conformances.
Lead investigations into complex multidiscipline system related events.
Use innovative approaches and unique applications to address complex nonconforming conditions and to detect deviations Assesses complex system events reports to determine potential safety issues.
Analyze reported problems for potential safety issues.
Develop and implement product/process improvements.
Lead development of interim and final solutions.
Provide design phase subject matter expertise by supporting Integrated Product Teams (IPT).
Represent the engineering community in the build through post production environment.
Oversee documentation of hardware problems.
Identify the need for technical training.
Lead activities for on on-site disabled product repair teams and accident investigation or support team.
Review and approve design and operational concepts for new designs.
Design complex jacking and shoring schemes.
Lead the design of interim structural repairs and conducts static strength analysis.
Develop and lead non-destructive test procedures, tools and standards.
Apply knowledge of Boeing design principles to assess and resolve product/process issues through the product lifecycle.
Analyze, conduct root cause analysis and develops dispositions for design non-conformances.
Evaluation and analysis of airplane production discrepancies of all types, such as functional test, chemical & thermal processes, raw materials, parts, assemblies, and airplane installations, resolution of parts and/or design repairs/rework on components, assemblies incorrectly designed, incorrectly built, incorrectly installed or damaged.
Represent engineering on the Material Review Board (MRB), responding to questions and concerns from manufacturing and engineering organizations.
Evaluate engineering /production data to determine corrective actions necessary for the elimination and prevention of chronic errors.
Work across all functions to ensure corrective action is implemented. Designs responsibilities include review/approve design revisions to enable improvement in production processes, with coordination across all functions to ensure design engineering concurrence.
Demonstrate innovative approaches in process improvement activities and the ability to work with multiple disciplines within engineering, manufacturing and other organizations.
Review and audit MRB activities for domestic and foreign suppliers.

What You’ll Need:

MRB experience required
Current or previous company Commercial Engineering Materials Review Board (MRB) signature authority and must have taken UPR & CPR or SOAR.
Candidates must be willing to work on 1st, 2nd and 3rd shift along with weekends and overtime.
This position must meet Export Control compliance requirements, therefore a “US Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. § 120.15 is required. “Us Person” includes US Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.
ABET accredited Engineering degree in the field of Mechanical, Civil, Electrical, and Aerospace/Aeronautical.

Commercial Airplanes (BCA) Material Review Board (MRB) credentials required
Computer literate
Must be able to read and write training material/job material
Successfully completing training OJT is a contingency-

Education & Experience:

Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics or Chemistry combined with 14 + years of relevant work experience; or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience. In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard. ENG degree required.
