Manufacturing Engineer

Description:
The Manufacturing Engineer provides a range of expertise in supporting and improving the manufacturing capabilities. This individual will be unrelenting in their pursuit of operations excellence and continuous improvement to sustain a wide range of low volume and high mix product line(s). He/she will provide solutions to that directly impact the sustaining and growth efforts of operations through the improved use of tooling/fixturing, manufacturing processes and labor standards.

Job Core Responsibilities

Expertise in developing a range of engineering solutions to improve the manufacture of new and existing Meggitt products
Experience troubleshooting and resolving productivity, quality, capacity, tooling, equipment or manufacturing issues.
Improves current production processes to manufacture products and reduces overall business cost basis.
Develops, maintains and optimizes Bill Of Materials (BOM) build plans, manufacturing process knowledge, routers, labor standards, tooling or equipment
Works with Engineering to achieve Value Add Value Engineering, design for manufacturing and design to cost objectives for existing programs and provides process/production input to win new business.
Excellent ability to apply a systematic and analytical approach to problem solving
Proactive behavior, a problem solver rather than a problem reporter.
Effective interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills to drive tasks to completion
Desired Skills:

Advanced knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma or other continuous improvement
3 + years of experience working in aerospace, medical or other highly regulated industry strongly preferred
Technical expertise in materials, machining and welding.
Experience in understanding and authoring blueprints, engineering specifications, Computer Aided Design modeling, equipment automation protocols and implementation.


Education Required:

Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or related field.
Masters Degree Preferred
