Program Quality Engineer

Description:
Our client, a major defense company is looking for a Program Quality Engineer.

Job Description:

The Program Quality Engineer shall assure reliable product is being delivered to our customers on time, meeting or exceeding expectations and specifications. In addition, Quality Engineering shall assure compliance with all regulatory, contractual and Environmental Health and Safety regulations. Thorough knowledge of Quality Assurance practices and principles. Broad understanding of the requirements of AS9100 Rev D and ability to conduct audits. Interface and communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, with personnel at all technical levels and with management. Ability to make sound, investigative and resourceful decisions based on facts. Work with teams to identify and implement continuous improvements to processes and products.

Responsibilities:


  • Develop QA and QC input for proposals.

  • Support Design Reviews, PRR ,etc.

  • FRACAS and Failure Analysis.

  • Develop and implement program quality plans, programs, and procedures.

  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and a good working knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing.

  • Contract Review and flow down of requirements to the supply chain and functional groups.

  • Flow Quality requirements to suppliers.

  • Provide technical support and training to Inspection department.

  • Evaluate and resolve product issues.

  • Review and analyze quality data for trends and metric generation

  • Perform trend analysis of defects. Investigates problems and develops disposition and corrective actions for recurring discrepancies.

  • Manage Corrective Action Requests (CAR's).

  • Perform Root Cause Analysis and present findings to Internal Corrective Action Review Board and the Executive Corrective Action Review Boards.

  • Review and approve engineering specification such as ATPs, drawings, models, manufacturing work instruction for adequacy, quality, and compliance to specification and contractual requirements.

  • Review and update procedures as applicable.

    Qualifications:




  • B.S. in Engineering or related field.

  • 10 + years Aerospace/Defense Industry experience.

    Preferred Additional Skills:




  • Lean/Six Sigma training (Preference is certified green/black belt).

  • AS 9100/ISO 9001 quality system experience.

  • DoD security clearance.

  • Advanced product Quality Planning, SPC, Process Failure Mode and Effects Analysis, problem solving methodologies and Lean Concepts.
