Our client, a leading Aerospace & Defense company, is looking for a talented Design Engineer to work at their Independence, OH facility. This is a 12 month W2 Contract with possible extension.
-Reporting to the Design Lead, the successful candidate will be responsible for supporting detail design and drawing release in support of initial production.
-Model Based Definition (MBD) drawings shall be compatible with UTAS Landing Systems design methodologies, customer and industry/regulatory requirements and standard practices.
-The successful candidate will conduct trade studies, generate layouts, perform tolerance stack-ups, and detailed part design and formal drawing release.
-BS in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering with 8+ years of design experience with a background in mechanisms and hydraulics in aerospace field with work experience with electrical and hydraulic systems routings
-Minimum of 8 years of experience within the Aerospace industry; must include extensive experience in New Product Development of transport and / or military type aircraft components and assemblies
-Knowledge of industry standard practices for systems routings.
-Understanding of requirements management and verification. Understanding of decomposition of system requirements and development of sub-system requirements.
Understanding of qualification requirements electrical and hydraulic equipment.
-CATIA V5 - model based definition (FTA), kinematics, functional tolerance and annotation and drafting / interoperability.
-Working knowledge of Engineering PDM systems. In-depth knowledge of MS programs (Word, Excel, Project, PPT). Strong communication skills capable of engaging and working directly with suppliers.
-US citizen, permanent resident alien or able to review all export-controlled technical information.
-Experience with GD&T (ASME Y14.5) and familiar with ASME Y14.100 and Y14.41
-Experience with Matrix One and SmarTeam PDM systems
-Working knowledge of materials and surface treatments
-Proficient with MS Word, Excel, and PPT
-Demonstrated ability to utilize Catia V5 with strong emphasis on functional tolerance and annotation module
