Structures MRB Engineer

Description:
General Summary:
The MRB Liaison Structures Systems Engineer reviews defects, establishes root cause, provides an acceptable disposition to repair the discrepant condition using engineering principles and determines if a corrective action required.

Duties and Responsibilities:
• Reviews, develops, and implements revised/new processes using six sigma/lean principles to be applied to all phases of production, receiving inspection, manufacturing and flight test.
• Reviews proposed repair dispositions and analysis to determine if the proposed repair is acceptable.
• Ensures that the proposed repair is equivalent to the Blueprint design and that it will not affect systems functionality.
• Provides on site technical support; including interpreting Engineering drawings, specifications, test procedures, and other systems related documents.
• Assists in determining if discrepancies are Engineering related or workmanship issues and documents findings.
• Initiates design and process changes to correct design errors, resolve complex, chronic manufacturing problems to improve produce-ability of the aircraft.

Education, Work Experience, Certification and/or Licensure:
• Bachelors of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering; experience can be used in lieu of degree requirements
• 6+ years experience of MRB type design of aircraft structures

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
• Working knowledge Mechanical Systems concepts and Standard Repair Methods (SRM).
• Working knowledge of CATIA V5, AutoCad and XAO preferred.
• Working knowledge of SAP preferred.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suites (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Lotus Notes.
• Ability to effectively communicate with all levels throughout an organization.
• Ability to work independently or within a team oriented environment.

Physical Requirements:
• Incumbents may be routinely exposed to equipment operational noise heat-cold-dust, and/or aircraft equipment, parts, or fuel odors.
• Incumbents may be required to stand, sit, squat, walk, bend, climb ladders, move, reach, or stretch for prolonged time periods with no restrictions, as required by job duties.
• Work in a safe and professional manner while adhering to all regulatory requirements (FAA, OSHA, DOT, EPA, State, and Federal regulations, etc.).
• Read, hear, speak, and see with no restrictions, as required by job duties.
• Comprehend and adhere to management directions and/or safety instructions with no restrictions.
• Effectively communicate in Business English language.
• Pull, push, carry, lift, or move items up to 10 lbs. throughout the work shift without assistance, as required by job duties. Pull, push, carry, lift or move materials/people/items/equipment weighing up to 50lbs or more during the work shift, with the use of Company provided “reach assistance technology” or “movement assist technology” (fork-lifts, pallet jacks, pulleys, dolly’s, robotics reach equipment, people movers etc.), as required by job duties.
