Embedded Software Enigneer

Job Summary
An Embedded Software Engineer is responsible for the development of aircraft AC and DC power distribution subsystems and for the integration of power switching devices and smart electronic power controllers. The engineer will perform software development according to RTCA/DO 178 process. The engineer will work together with hardware designers to test and verify the design during the development to qualify and certify the product for aerospace applications.

Primary Responsibilities
• Design and implement software of embedded devices and systems from requirements to production.
• Design, develop, code, test and debug integrated hardware and software systems.
• Perform A-to-D data sampling and conversion principles
• Perform design verification using automated test methodologies.
• Perform LabVIEW design for Graphical User Interfaces.
• Program in C Language.
• Define communication protocol for MIL-STD-1553 and ARINC-485.
• Interpret requirements and create detailed technical specifications
• Document requirement, design data, test data, and analytic results for team review and re-use in other products.
• Perform validation and verification planning, testing, and reports.
• Actively participates in Lean and 6S initiatives

Required Qualifications
• A Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or Software Engineering.
• Minimum 5 years of experience with embedded C software programming activities within the aerospace environment.
• Minimum 5 years of experience with Hardware & Software Integration Testing.
• Minimum 2 years of experience with MIL-STD -1553 data bus hardware and software design.
• Minimum 2 years of experience in Ethernet hardware and software design
• Minimum 2 years of experience in LabVIEW and national instruments equipment
• Ability to perform analog circuit analysis, review schematics.
• Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Must be well organized, detail oriented and have the ability to manage multiple projects and priorities.
• Must be willing to travel to customer sites as required.

Preferred Qualifications
• Experienced with power MOSFET and electro mechanical technologies.
• Familiar in handling high power testing and instrumentations, 270 VDC and 115 VAC.
• Experience with Aerospace and RTCA/DO-178 Certification
• A creative and innovative mind.
• Familiar with FPGA Design and Design Tools (Actel)
