We are working to fill a permanent position for an aerospace company in southern Indiana. Compensation is over $110K, a good benifit package with relocation assistance for an experienced Design engineer with Heat Exchanger design experience. They are looking for a leader type individual who can join their team and have a can do approach with a get it done approach.
They want someone with:
• Experience with aluminum plate heat exchangers
• Familiar with methodology for product validation
• Product Design and Development
• Exp with standard test plans with heat exchangers
• Drive, manage and execute test plans
• Technical writing skills
• Excellent verbal and written skills

Job Designation
The Senior Design Engineer carries the product design work load. Under the direction of the Director of Engineering he/she evaluates new product requirements, makes stress and heat transfer calculations, optimizes unit size, cost, weight and reviews customer and internal drawings.

Job Core Responsibilities
• Reviews customer specifications and drawings; supports new product opportunities
• Designs products to meet customer heat transfer, pressure drop and structural requirements
• Works with drafting to produce engineering drawings; responsible for accuracy of drawings to match design specification
• Prepares test procedures and writes test reports, technical proposals and other engineering related documents
• Responsible for all associated testing requirements, qualification and compliance of design to customer’s specifications
• Prepares and chairs design reviews and supports other meeting requests
• Works with outside labs to perform development and qualification testing
• Generates cost estimates related to program support and qualification test programs
• Supports operations in multi-faceted areas and as needed for urgent quality or manufacturing related issues with legacy products.
Skills
• Heat exchanger design and manufacturing methods is required; plate and fin, tube & shell and other innovative concepts
• Thermodynamics, Heat Transfer and Fluid Dynamics knowledge required
• Product Development and Release experience is required; experience in aerospace programs highly desirable
• Finite Element Analysis experience is desirable; significant experienced performing CFD and stress analysis is highly desirable
• Metallurgical and materials engineering experience is desirable
• Some manufacturing experience is desirable especially in vacuum brazing and aluminum welding
• Preferred skills: Experience within Aerospace, ISO9001/AS9100, Trade Compliance, Program/Project Management, Problem Solving Skills

Job Specifications
Education: Post-secondary degree in Engineering/Thermal Engineering or equivalent combination of relevant education and work experience that will allow successful performance of job expectations.
Certifications - Years’ Experience: 10 years or more of relevant experience preferred in heat exchanger design in the aerospace industry or equivalent work, co-op or internship experience.

This position requires use of information which is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR).
