Radar Tracker/Scheduler

PDS Tech Inc. is seeking a Radar Tracker/Scheduler, in Andover, MA.


An opportunity currently exists for an engineer to join our fast paced Monolithic Microwave Integrated Circuit (MMIC) development organization as a Senior RF Module Test Engineer. The Microelectronics Engineering and Technology (MET) department designs and manufactures compound semiconductor devices, millimeter/microwave integrated circuits (MMICs) and modules for defense and commercial applications and is a part of Integrated Defense Systems (IDS).In this position, the candidate will be responsible for supporting design engineers and project leads by planning and coordinating the development of test systems for RF modules used in radar and EW systems. A solid understanding of complex RF measurements, device characterization, and calibration techniques is a must. In this role, the successful candidate is expected to have the following attributes: Knowledge: Is an expert in RF measurements. Exhibits a high degree of ingenuity and resourcefulness and will be able to develop advanced measurement techniques and concepts.Initiative: Acts independently to uncover and resolve measurement issues. Plans and creates test systems to support Research & Development projects to accomplish long-range objectives.Vision: Assists in the development of METs strategic test and measurement roadmaps; creates innovative measurements systems and new characterization techniques.Impact: Support MMIC designers, Module designers, and research & development teams to advance emerging technologies resulting in new product/business opportunities for Liaison: Serves as a resource to designers and researchers, acts as a mentor to new test engineers and is a key spokesperson on test and measurements issues. Helps to attract and win new program business. Responsibilities will include some or all of the following: Develop test systems, calibration methods, and test procedures. Perform first article test on RF modules. Maintain the test lab and ensure equipment is in working order and calibrated. Set up lab in an efficient manner to improve test cycle time. Support Senior Design Engineers in testing and troubleshooting of new technology. Analyze and plot data to verify accuracy and present data to engineers. Train staff on measurements and calibration Test classified circuits.
Required Skills & Experience:
Test experience with microwave devices, circuits and modules Demonstrated understanding of semiconductor device characterization techniques and equipment High level of proficiency with microwave and Millimeter wave test equipment such as Network analyzers (for example Keysight PNA-X), Spectrum Analyzers, Noise figure Analyzers, Maury Load-pull systems, RF sources, probe stations, and meters. Experience with various measurement methods including static & pulsed I-V, breakdown, RS/RD, CW & pulsed bias S-Parameter, load/source-pull, TOI, CW and Pulsed Power, noise figure, and noise parameters US Citizenship is required, you must have the ability to obtain a security clearance.

Desired Skills & Experience:
Excellent communication, documentation, and teamwork skills Knowledge of Nonlinear Vector Network Analyzer (NVNA) Solid understanding of semiconductor device physics concepts Hands-on experience with high power test equipment Hands-on experience with high-frequency testing (up to 220 GHz) Ability to independently solve problems Candidate should be proficient with LabVIEW or test lab software. Strong technical writing skills Statistical and data analysis background Software Experience- EXCEL, PSPICE, and ADS.

BS in Electrical Engineering or Equivalent with 4+ years related working experience MS in Electrical Engineering or Equivalent with 2+ years related working experience.
