Structural Engineer

Description:
Structural Ground Test (GT) Engineers are responsible for projects with significant scope and complexity covering the structural aspects of Ground Testing helicopter components and systems. Test programs typically involve full scale fatigue and static evaluations of dynamic components, airframe static tests, and airframe shake tests. A large part of our function is fatigue substantiation which correlates laboratory fatigue test strength data with measured flight test loads and the customer's mission spectrum to produce dynamic component retirement times and/or inspection intervals that reduce the chance of catastrophic fatigue fracture to an extremely remote possibility. To that end, Structural GT engineers are in charge of the entire fatigue test program including detailed test planning, facilities, test specimens, instrumentation, test conduct, post-processing data, substantiation analysis using customized software tools, and generation of test plans and reports. Tasks also include supporting and establishing operating limitations for both flight test programs and fielded aircraft.

Skills Required: - Requires application of all Mechanical/Aerospace Engineering disciplines to a wide variety of technical problems. -

Will have a minimum of a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering and 12+ years of relevant experience.
