Title:Firmware Engineer - Level 3
Description
The FPGA portion of the tasks requires an engineer to support first article test and characterization of an Altera Arria V GZ FPGA which processes video information. The engineer should be familiar with video standards including RS-170, RS-343, NTSC, PAL, XGA, SXGA, UXGA, and WUXGA standards. The integration will require stimulation of the FPGA and verification of the outputs in in a standalone module environment, as well as in a multiple card system. Development of console scripts will be necessary, as well as capturing objective evidence from the testing, and analysis of the results. Debugging skills will be required to detect and isolate undesired behavior. This will require use of general lab tools including logic analyzers, oscilloscopes, and console emulators. The engineer must be able to load, test, analyze, debug, integrate, and support the FPGA design with the board logic, as well as support the software team in their integration efforts. The engineer will need to be fluent in the Verilog design language and the Altera development process using Altera Quartus Prime v16.0, Qsystem, TimeQuest, and SignalTap. In addition, knowledge of the Mentor Graphics Questa simulation tool is required for verification of any corrective actions prior to testing on real hardware.
