Mechanical/Mechanism Design Engineer-Landing Gear

Description:
This position is for a mechanical design engineer for an advanced air vehicle program. A successful candidate will apply extensive technical expertise to develop solutions to complex aircraft mechanisms, landing gear and structural design problems. The candidate will coordinate efforts across a wide range of functional organizations, such as Quality Assurance, Planning, Tooling, Structural Analysis, Materials & Processes, Flight Sciences, Test and Manufacturing.

Active Clearance required.

Responsibilities for this position include:

• Development, test, and validation of mechanical designs.
• Create and maintain 3-D CATIA models, assemblies and installations, system requirements, interface/supplier control drawings, performance specifications, system checkout procedures and statements of work.
• Create system requirements, trade studies, sub-component and flight test plans.
• Coordinate with suppliers, internal and external integrated product teams.
• Provide manufacturing, component test and ground/flight test support.
• May serve as the prime technical contact for mechanical systems.
• May function in a project leadership role managing the system performance, budget and schedule.

Must be a US Citizen. This position is located at a facility that requires special access.

Selected applicant does not require a security clearance to start, but will be required to obtain a secret clearance after starting.
• Bachelor’s or above Degree in an Engineering Discipline
• Experience in mechanical or mechanism design
• Experience with CATIA, Solidworks, Pro Engineer, Creo, Unigraphics, NX or equivalent 3-D Computer Aided Design (CAD) tool.
• Experience in CATIA V5
• Experience with metallic and composite design
• Experience with GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing)
• Experience with hand stress analysis
