PDS Tech Commercial, Inc is looking for a Mechanical Technician in Richardson, TX.

Job Title: Mechanical Technician
Job Type: Full-time; Consultant
Duration: SIX (6) Months; possibility of direct hire after

Location: Richardson, TX (ONSITE)

Pay Rate: $37 per hour

Shift: M-F; Flexible start time with core hours covered (9am to 3pm)

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Provides mechanical support for research, design, development, or manufacturing activities for various customers

• Applies mechanical theory to lay out, build, test, troubleshoot, repair, and modify engineering prototypes and RC products

• Read and interpret blueprints/drawings and understand GD&T with the ability to run parts from prints

• Order raw materials and tooling as required to produce prototype parts

• Sets up, operates standard equipment, and uses CAD/CAM software to perform CNC programming for automated equipment

• Uses gages, precision measuring instruments, and all necessary inspection equipment to perform quality checks

• Documents mechanical design, design modifications and has responsibility for documentation maintenance

• Assists engineers with the development of new engineering processes and/or products to ensure their manufacturability, may recommend design changes

• Perform as member of design team, including leadership role, utilizing effective communication skills

• Solid understanding of written/verbal instruction methods used by customers

• Provide support/instruction to less experienced mechanical technicians
  
  

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Associates Degree with 5 years’ experience, or a High School Diploma/GED with 10 years’ experience

• Must be a US Citizen

• Ability to obtain a Secret Clearance

• 10 years’ experience preferred in the following:

  • Manual Mill/Lathe experience

  • CNC Mill/Lathe experience/Haas, Fanuc

  • CAD experience/Solid Works

  • CAM experience/Smart CAM

  • Proficiency with sheet metal fabrication tools including shears, press brakes, rollers and manual sheet metal tools.

  • Rivet installation skills

  • General metal fabrication skills

  • Self Motivated

• Very Detail Oriented with a High Quality of Workmanship

• Siemens Controller experience a plus

• TIG welding a plus
