Mechanical Engineer Job Description
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Full Time Mechanical Engineer to lead the design and construction of pilot plants within the chemical and petrochemical industry. As a key member of our team, you will bring your expertise in process equipment and pressure vessel design, stress analysis, FEA, stainless steel fabrication, piping, flow, heat transfer, instrumentation, and controls to ensure the success of our projects.

Mechanical Engineer Responsibilities

Design and supervise the construction of mechanical aspects of pilot plants, emphasizing excellence in process equipment and pressure vessel design.
Conduct stress analysis, FEA, and oversee stainless steel fabrication, piping, flow, heat transfer, instrumentation, and controls.
Provide hands-on oversight of design/drafter activities, ensuring compliance with industry standards and best practices.
Utilize CAD/Design software (AutoCAD, SOLIDWORKS, Codeware) to produce high-quality engineering designs.
Possess comprehensive knowledge of ASME Sec 8 Div 1 (pressure vessels) and PED codes.
Collaborate effectively within project teams and interact with clients, customers, vendors, suppliers, and fabricators.
Support equipment assembly, start-up, installation, validation, and field service as required.
Intermittently travel domestically and internationally for commissioning equipment on customer sites, with trips lasting 2-3 days and one 1–2-week trip annually.
Mechanical Engineer Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering; PE certification is a plus.
5 years of experience in mechanical engineering, with a focus on pilot plant design and construction.
Proven experience in installing/running R&D equipment and conducting experiments; production experience is advantageous.
Knowledge of chemical processes and understanding of electrical instrumentation/automation.
Proficiency in AutoCAD, SolidWorks/Pre-E, Codeware software, MS Project, Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
Strong project management, leadership, and communication skills.
