Electrical Design & Integration Engineer 4

Description:
Develops and maintains cable/wire harness detail and assembly designs. Analyzes results and performs design reviews. Leads the team to analyze results and performs design reviews. Provides engineering design disposition on discrepancies (e.g., rejection tags, production action requests, shop revision requests). Documents processes, specifications and procedures that support the design and manufacture of electrical commodities. Develops complex statements of work, metrics, schedules and budgets. Performs technical review of supplier capabilities to facilitate source selection. Works under minimal direction.

As a Senior Electrical Design and Integration Engineer experienced with EWIS (Electrical Wiring Interconnection System), FAA Part 25, Subpart H, and certification for commercial derivative aircraft, you will play a critical role in leading and overseeing the electrical design and integration activities for commercial derivative aircraft projects. Your expertise in electrical engineering, EWIS regulations, and FAA certification requirements will be essential in developing safe, reliable, and compliant electrical systems.

• Serve as the subject matter expert on FAA EWIS Certification regulations, staying up-to-date with the latest changes and requirements.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including electrical design engineers, systems engineers, and certification specialists, to ensure compliance with FAA EWIS Certification regulations throughout the aircraft development process.
• Review and analyze electrical wiring integration designs, ensuring compliance with applicable regulations, standards, and best practices.
• Provide guidance and support to electrical design engineers in developing and documenting wiring integration plans, including routing, installation, and protection of electrical wiring.
• Conduct thorough reviews and assessments of electrical wiring integration plans, identifying potential risks, issues, and non-compliance areas.
• Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation related to FAA EWIS Certification, including compliance reports, test plans, and certification artifacts.
• Collaborate with certification authorities and participate in certification audits and reviews.
• Stay informed about industry trends, advancements, and emerging technologies related to electrical wiring integration and FAA EWIS Certification.

Position is Hybrid. Must be on-site 3 days a week.

Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 9 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD+4 years' related work experience, Master+7 years' related work experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.
