Airframe Customer Support Engineering, located in sunny Southern California in Seal Beach is seeking Senior Structural Analysis Engineers to join our team and make an immediate impact on both urgent and long-term fleet support. Join one of our exciting teams by submitting your resume today.

We are over 500 engineers strong in support of our fleet. You will be able to combine the deep expertise and resources of the entire company enterprise with the flexibility and fast pace of a small company setting. You will have opportunities to collaborate with people from all over the world to create and deliver innovative solutions to complex technical problems, and to learn how to develop a full structural repair and return an airplane to service in as little as 4 hours.
Position will allow for hybrid telecommute. Submitted candidates should be local to the area as the need to go onsite could arise. Remote option is at the discretion of the Hiring Manager and may change as needs change, including hybrid or 100% onsite requirement.

Primary Responsibilities:

Review and approve engineering data that supports airframe repairs and service bulletins for aircraft.

Plans, leads, and performs structural analysis to determine structural integrity (margins of safety), using classical techniques and tools, to support drawing release, establishes maintenance/inspection programs, and supports the Manufacturing Review Board process.

Reviews and approves structural analysis, provides expertise to respond to customer inquiries, develops service bulletins, and investigates failures to maintain continued airworthiness/mission capability. Responds to emergent requests for safety of flight decisions.

Account for customer impact of solutions and provide temporary repair options when a permanent repair is not feasible.


This position must meet Export Control compliance requirements, therefore a "US Person" as defined by 22 C.F.R. 120.15 is required. "US Person" includes US Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.

Basic Qualifications (Required skills and experience):

Must currently possess a Bachelor's or Master's of Science degree from an accredited course of study in Mechanical, Aeronautical, Civil or Structural Engineering.

5 or more years of experience with structural design principles for repair and maintenance (e.g., fatigue, damage tolerance, corrosion, stress analysis, statics, materials strength, material characteristics, repair techniques).

5 or more years of experience do you have performing stress analysis using both hand calculations and finite element tools.

Willing to support a 24/7 on-call rotation schedule and the ability to work variable shifts, including weekends or overtime.

Experience working transport category airplane certification or production/fleet support projects involving FAA approval.


Qualifications (Desired skills and experience):

Experience using NASTRAN and PATRAN finite element modeling software

Experience working transport category airplane certification or production/fleet support projects involving FAA approval.

Experience in aircraft manufacturing fabrication and assembly processes and procedures.

Master's of Science in Mechanical, Civil, or Aerospace engineering preferred.

Typical Education or Experience:

Bachelor's and 9 or more years' experience, Master's with 7 or more years' experience or PhD with 4 or more years' experience. Bachelor, Master or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry. ABET is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.

Additional Job Description:

Plans and organizes structural analysis work at the program level to assure total compliance with structural integrity and stability requirements. Develops, integrates and documents complex or unique structural requirements to establish the system design. Coordinates with other engineering groups to establish the product's environment. Guides product design and verifies structural integrity by defining requirements for development of analytical methods, finite element models/simulations and other analysis tools to develop the structural environment, characteristics and performance of the product. Works with customers and regulatory agencies to define certification processes that will ensure requirements are met. Reviews and approves certification results. Develops test plans and configurations, supports test execution and analyzes/reports test results to validate and verify systems and components meet requirements and specifications. Defines and organizes test programs to substantiate for customers and regulatory agencies that requirements are satisfied. Develops analytical processes/tools to improve effectiveness, quality and efficiency of the development effort. Investigates emerging technologies to develop future product designs to meet projected requirements. Works under consultative direction.

Skills: Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 9 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD+4 years' related work experience, Master+7 years' related work experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.
