Stress Engineer

Description:
Must-haves:
• Bachelor's of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or related discipline and typically 10 or more years of relevant experience
• Thorough understanding of engineering principles and practices
• Extensive experience in Engineering Simulation using Finite Element structural analysis (FEA) tools such as MSC Patran, NX NASTRAN, FEMAP, or ANSYS
• Ability to work in/lead multi‐disciplinary design and development teams
• Advanced knowledge of Static and/or Dynamic Analyses
• Leadership experience with aerospace structural design, fabrication, and repair methods for military and/or commercial aircraft
• Leadership experience in the design, development and analyses of complex and/or large aerospace structures
• Familiarity with military and commercial aerospace catalog of standards, fasteners, and material properties
• Proficiency in ASME Y14 drawing standards and practices including the development of “production level” technical data packages (Level 3 TDP)
• Must be US Citizens
Preferred:
• Experience performing fatigue and damage tolerance analysis utilizing tools such as NASGRO or AFGROW
• Ability to perform classical analysis using industry standard hand calculation methods
• Knowledge of industry‐standard mechanical design principles, to include, but not limited to parametric design, model‐based definition, material hardware selection, manufacturing and production processes
• Ability to author substantiation reports
• Background in the Aviation and Defense Industry
• Experience applying and interpreting Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) per ASME Y14.5
• Understanding of Engineering Simulation such as Finite Element structural Analysis (FEA), Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD), and Thermal Analysis
• Experience with FAA and/or Military Certification processes and requirements
• Experience in the support of aerospace fabrication and installation activities in an operations liaison role
• Knowledge and familiarity regarding the environmental compatibility of equipment and installations per MIL‐STD‐810 and/or RTCA DO‐160
• Familiarity with Model Based Definition (MBD) and Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T) requirements
• Experience with Solidworks and PLM
