Description:
The Electronics Products Shared Integrated Product Group at The client Company's Satellite Development Center in El Segundo, California is seeking a Experienced Test Equipment Design Engineer whose area of expertise is electronics test and automated test system design. Our automated test systems include those designed for testing RF/microwave/millimeter-wave electronics, power electronics, and digital electronics for space applications. Units requiring automated test range from single-board computers to switching networks, modems, and microwave electronics used in space-based applications.

The person in this position will be responsible for hands-on test and test system design, as well as providing project management and leadership for less senior personnel.

Their responsibilities may also include but are not limited to:
- Hands-on design and design leadership of automated test system development projects.
- Development of test system requirements and verification methodologies.
- Supporting test system proposals and bids.
- Leading design teams of 2 or more people on automated test system development activities with cost and schedule accountability.
- Resolution of anomalies occurring during integration and test of a test system, and also during subsequent delivery and test system usage.

Degree and typical experience in engineering classification: Bachelor's 14 or more years' experience, Master's with 12 or more years' experience or PhD with 9 or more years' experience. Bachelor, Master or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry. ABET is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.

Basic (Required) Qualifications
- Hands-on design and leadership of automated test system development projects.
- Development of test system requirements and verification methodologies.
- Supporting test system proposals and bids.
- Leading design teams of 2 or more people on automated test system development activities with cost and schedule accountability.
- Resolution of anomalies occurring during integration and test of a test system, and also during subsequent delivery and test system usage.
Preferred Qualifications
- Applicable skills for this position range from test software development to electronics hardware specification and design.
- Software/coding experience using LabView, C/C#, Python, FPGA Verilog/VHDL, and Matlab Signal Processing is a plus.
- Familiarity with intermodulation distortion, phase noise, and spurious measurement test techniques and familiarity with S-parameters is a plus.

Education / Experience:
Bachelor's degree with 14 or more years' experience, Master's degreee with 12 or more years' experience or PhD with 9 or more years' experience. Bachelor, Master or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry.
