Description:
ELECTRICAL ENGINEER

ENEA is currently searching for a qualified Electrical Engineer to work on a 12-month Contract-to-Hire role working on Medical Devices.

PRIMARY FUNCTION AND INFLUENCE:

• Measure, analyze, modify, and participate in development of complex electromechanical medical devices.
• Will be directed by a senior staff engineer/engineering team in the completion of project goals.
• Assignments include prototyping, testing, analysis, design modification/improvement and integration.
• Should possess technical ability to work alone and with others to complete tasks.
• Learn and apply FDA guidance, as needed, on medical device development to ensure compliance.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
1. Possess core electrical engineering knowledge expected from a graduate of an accredited university.
2. Ability to analyze, test, verify, document and modify electrical circuits and circuit boards.
3. Interact with/seek help from others to complete tasks toward team goals.
4. Complete and keep current in all mandatory training required to perform assigned tasks.

REQUIRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:

• Experience operating electrical instruments including oscilloscopes, DMMs, power supplies, function generators, logic/protocol analyzers, and soldering equipment a must.
• With limited input from others, constructs/conducts experiments and determines how to repair/change electrical hardware given schematics/artwork.
• Ability to work with others to formulate hypotheses, draw conclusions from, and make recommendations for improvements/changes based on experiment results is expected.
• Working knowledge and laboratory experience with microcontrollers, stepper motors and communication interfaces (Ex.: UART, SPI, I2C, USB, etc.).
• Electrical hardware design experience with analog circuits, power electronics, power supplies and battery chargers.
• Utilize excellent troubleshooting skills with hands on approach to identify root cause and corrective actions.

PREFERRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:

• Ability to perform analysis with tools like SPICE and implement design changes with ECAD tools a plus.
• Skill on design and troubleshooting of power supply and battery management a plus.
• Experience with circuit and layout design to improve EMC/EMI response a plus.
• Previous medical device industry experience also a plus.
