Solidworks Design/Drafter

Description:
Client is a leading high-tech autonomous systems company driven by a culture of agility and systematic improvement . Since 1994 Client has led in the design, development and production of small autonomous aircraft for Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UAS). We currently produce and sell an ever growing fleet of Unmanned Aircraft Systems that are low-cost, long-endurance, and have low personnel requirements. These UASs provide a no-runway launch, unprecedented stabilized day and night video for ISR, robotic flight control, and a no-nets capture.
As we continue our rapid growth in the UAS/UAV market we are looking for experienced talent to help us achieve our goal of maintaining the agile and innovative problem-solving capabilities in all the products we offer.

Employs computer aided design tools to develop, revise and maintain engineering product definitions. Coordinates and resolves tolerance, fit, material or manufacturability issues. Designs and/or modifies components or subsystems to include planning, layout, drawing and revising detailed parts, assemblies, and/or installation drawings. Evaluates engineering drawings and related documents for efficiency of design, dimensional accuracy, conformity to standards and economy of fabrication. Identifies deficiencies, takes corrective action and/or coordinates revisions. Investigates and resolves manufacturing process or engineering related issues. Prepares and coordinates release/change request documentation. Responds to change justification request inquiries and incorporates changes to drawings.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:
Knowledge of design concepts and techniques including design for Manufacture/Assembly.
Knowledge of and ability to interpret/apply design and drafting standards (e.g., ASME Y14.XX).
Knowledge of design and drafting methods (e.g., orthographic projection, descriptive geometry, layout, geometric dimensioning & tolerance, coordinate systems, etc.) as applied to manual drafting and/or computer-aided design tools in the creation of drawings and datasets.
Knowledge and proficiency with parts, assemblies, multi-body surface parts, feature configurations, and assembly configurations.
Knowledge of drawing specifics defining weldments, composite parts and bonded assemblies, machine parts and sheet metal parts and assemblies.
Knowledge of GD&T per ASME Y14.5 2004
Knowledge of Digital Product Definition Data Practices per ASME 14.41

EXPERIENCE USING SOLIDWORKS VAULT.

EXPERIENCE DESIGNING/DEFINING COMPONENTS FOR BUILDS USING R-P METHODS: SLA, SLS, DMLS

EDUCATION:
Accredited Associate degree in related discipline and typically 3 or more years of related experience.
