General Summary: 
 
The Engineer, Real-time Test and Simulation position is responsible for developing, testing and enhancing aircraft integration software and hardware and supporting the tool and process associated with Real-time Test and Simulation Systems (RTSS).
 
Duties and Responsibilities:
Develops and enhances hardware and software in the Advanced Systems Integration Test Facility (ASITF) for current and future programs.
Develops simulation software, user interfaces and associated documentation to support testing.
Develops and enhance automated regression and Safety of Flight tests for various systems groups.
Creates real-time prototypes of advanced aircraft systems and develop capabilities and facilities in support of advanced research projects.
Develops Model Based Development (MBD) processes and environments for real-time advanced prototyping with a long term objective of leading to a production capable MBD software development.
Assists in the configuration management and control of the facility’s hardware and software systems.
Assists system test engineers as required with their test development and during their testing.
Mentors other engineers on real-time test and simulation.
Defines and improves Systems Engineering Processes (SEP) associated with systems integration testing and advanced Model Based Development (MBD).
Reviews systems requirements, ICDs, electrical drawings, test plans, system safety documentation, and system performance analysis.
Qualifications
 
Education, Work Experience, Certification and/or Licensure:
Bachelors’ degree in Aerospace, Electrical, Software Engineering, or other related field required.
5+ years of direct engineering experience in actual development programs, including requirements development, design, integration, testing and system troubleshooting experience.
Previous experience in HIL (hardware-in-the-loop) simulation and test automation.
Previous experience within the aviation/aerospace industry.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Working knowledge of FAA & EASA certification requirements, including airworthiness and operational requirements.
Working knowledge of Mathworks MATLAB/Simulink.
Working knowledge and familiarity with dSPACE or other real-time testing / test automation platforms.
Working knowledge with scripting languages such as Python and JavaScript is preferred.
Previous experience with HTML is preferred.
Previous experience with SCADE (display and controls) tool set highly preferred.
Strong analytical skills required.
Previous experience with tools for Requirement Management, Defect Tracking, Configuration Control and Version Control.
Proficiency with DOORS and PLM tool (TeamCenter, etc.) preferred.
Ability to communicate effectively (written and oral) through all levels within the company.
