Verification and Validation Engineer - MA

Chipton Ross is seeking a Verification and Validation Engineer in Acton, MA.

Job Summary:
V&V Engineering is responsible for providing objective evidence that a product design meets its specified requirements and meets the identified user's needs and intended uses. The V&V Engineer determines what evidence is required to show compliance, including the amount of data required and the methodology for collecting and analyzing the data. The V&V Engineer ensures that the data is collected using products of appropriate configuration, performs the required analyses, and documents conclusions.
This person will lead the hardware and software design verification and validation of new products as well as some test support for existing products (continuing engineering). The engineer will also be responsible for developing and executing product verification and validation plans to ensure the needs of the end user are met, as well as meeting medical certification requirements.

o Reviews and provides feedback on product requirements to ensure that they can be verified and validated
o Works with product development teams to understand the product and configurations being developed
o Supports product development teams in the completion of development testing
o Develops and refines the procedures that gather the required data to show the product meets requirements and customer needs
o Defines and develops required test fixtures in conjunction with test facilities and ensures they are validated.
o Collaborates with internal and external testing facilities to identify appropriate resources and gather verification and validation data
o Reviews, statistically analyzes, and documents pass/fail conclusions on gathered data
o Measures and reports on progress toward completion of verification and validation
o Supports the root cause identification, corrective actions, and re-verification/validation of identified product failures
o Generates verification and validation reports and traceability summaries to document the conclusions reached in compliance with FDA and other regulatory requirements
o This role does not have supervisory responsibility

o BS Degree (Mechanical, Electrical, Software Engineering or comparable technical discipline)
o 6+ years of engineering experience
o Strong organizational and communication skills
o Proficient problem solving skills
o Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work collaboratively with others in a team environment
o Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and Engineering software
o Experience in the medical device industry is preferred

o BS Degree (Mechanical, Electrical, Software Engineering or comparable technical discipline)
