2nd Shift Assembly Operator

2nd Shift Assembly Operator, in Lincolnton, NC


Perform hand assembly operations which may include one or more of the following: component identification, soldering, testing and packaging using small tools and equipment in a teamwork environment. Produce with minimum supervision according to kanban and sales order reports and managing required material. 

• Assemble in compliance with IPC standards 
• Operate test and assembly equipment 
• Operating small tools/equipment 
• Navigate within Oracle's manufacturing reports 
• Component identification 
• 5S and housekeeping 
• Ensure all safety standards are adhered to 
• Find, report and correct EH&S discrepancies on a routine basis 
• Recommend improvements to material, process flow and information flow 
• Material/inventory management - ensure kanban levels are sufficient to maintain production requirements 
• Train new associates in standard manufacturing practices 
• Overtime will be required as the needs of the business dictate 
• Understand ever changing MFG requirements and the means of achieving those metrics 
• Understand internal and external customer requirements. 
• Promotes and supports company policies, lean culture and teamwork environment

• Strong communications skills 
• Ability to support / lead within a team environment 
• Basic computer skills 
• Familiarity with Microsoft Office 
• May be required to properly lift up to 30 pounds maximum. If an employee needs to lift over 30 pounds, it needs to be done with two employees lifting or needs to be reported to EHS to determine what can be done for a lifting aid. 
• Experienced user of Microsoft Office Applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) 
• Good verbal and written communication skills 
• Must be able to read and interpret BOM’s 

The following skills may be required depending on the MFG Assembly Operations work location within the plant. 

• Soldering, desoldering and repair of visual errors 

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED). 
• Prefer work experience in electronics or circuit board assembly. 
• Experience may be obtained through on-site placement by temporary agency. 
• WorkKeys preferred.
