Description:
The Flight Test Engineer's primary role will be to support flight testing at Patuxent River Naval Air Station on the F-35B and F-35C aircraft. The primary task for this position includes mission planning for all PAX F-35 test flights and maintaining the configuration of the mission planning equipment.

-The Mission Systems team is responsible for the following aircraft systems: RADAR, EOTS/DAS, EW/CM, CNI, displays, and also the off-board mission planning equipment. Familiar with Mission Systems/Avionics aircraft architectures or experience with flight test.

-The U&S team is responsible for the following aircraft systems: Electrical Power, Fuel, Fire Protection, Hydraulics, Landing/Arresting Gear, and Power/Thermal Management. Familiar with aircraft U&S architectures or experience with flight test.

-The FLCS team is responsible for the following aircraft systems: Air Data, Inceptor Control, Control Surface Actuation, Navigation, and Vehicle Management Systems. Familiar with Flight Control Systems equipment or experience with flight test.

-Additional tasks may include planning and executing Mission Systems test flights, supporting test flight briefings/debriefings, providing real time control room monitoring of MS test flights, requesting/analyzing post-flight data, and supporting MS anomaly resolution as well as on-aircraft troubleshooting of MS hardware.
**Must be a US Citizen. This position is located at a facility that requires special access and a Secret clearance to start.**

Basic Qualifications
-Bachelor's degree from an accredited college in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or related engineering degree.

Desired skills
-Familiar with F-35 Mission Systems aircraft architecture or experience with F-35 flight test.

-Computer programming experience.
-MATLAB experience.
-Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite (Word, Powerpoint,
Excel, Outlook) and Microsoft Windows operating system.
-Works well within a team and possesses good written and verbal communication skills.
