Engineering Technician I - Materials & Processes (Contract)

Description:
Do you have a passion for hands-on, technical work in a fast paced environment?
We may have the opportunity for you! As an Engineering Technician I, you will be using your skills and expertise to perform a variety of duties in the electronic, mechanical, electromechanical, and/or optical areas.
You'll assist with constructing, troubleshooting, calibrating, testing, and maintaining our equipment, components, devices, or systems and help ensure our systems and components meet established specifications.

Must-haves:

    Associate's degree in a related field of study

      A higher level degree may substitute for experience

      Related experience may be considered in lieu of required education

    Ability to read and understand mechanical and electrical drawings, diagrams, schematics, and manuals

    Ability to work with standard laboratory test equipment, other measurement equipment, hand tools, and power tools

Preferred:

    Previous experience or familiarity with metallurgical preparation, metallurgy, and welding

    Previous experience with material testing equipment (such as tensile testing, microhardness, etc.)

    Previous experience or familiarity with optical microscopy and scanning electron microscopy (SEM/EDS) desired

    Previous experience or familiarity with general lab safety practices and working with hazardous chemicals

    Previous experience and/or certifications within the aerospace and defense industry

    Previous experience in a laboratory or manufacturing environment

    Experience with AutoCAD or other 3-D CAD software

    The ability to obtain and maintain a Security Clearance may be required Learn more about the background check process for Security Clearances
