Supports the development and documentation of mechanical and fluid system and thermal environment requirements to establish the system design.
Supports the development, maintenance or modification of system, component and installation designs/proposals to provide design documentation to downstream groups.
Performs and documents analyses to validate and verify systems and components meet requirements and specifications.
Contributes to supplier development, test and production activities and directs the supplier to optimize integration and achieve program goals.
Supports system components' designs/proposals standards to provide installation and detail documentation. Trains others. Works under general direction.
Conduct the design, analysis, test, and integration of air vehicle subsystems, including but not limited to
Landing gear, Steering, Braking, Flight control actuation, Hydraulic systems, Launch and recovery, Payload doors, Environment control system ECS, Ground service equipment - GSE
Support definition of requirements for air vehicle subsystems.
Manage functional and physical interfaces between vehicle subsystems and the vehicle.
Performs analysis, modeling, and simulation to verify subsystems and components meet requirements.
Support execution of component, subsystem, and system-level testing, including generating test plans and procedures, test execution, and analysis of test results.
Communicates information about vehicle subsystem design, requirements, and performance between the design team, management, customer, subcontractors, and vendors.
Minimum of B.S. in mechanical or aerospace engineering (or related STEM discipline) plus 5+ years of relevant experience (or equivalent combination of technical education and experience).
Demonstrated expertise in development of aerospace vehicle subsystems.
Experience with CAD software (CATIA V5 preferred).
Excellent written and communication skills.
