RESPONSIBILITIES: Perform Flying Qualities/Handling Qualities analysis for E2/C2 development programs. Analysis will be for the incorporation of aerial refueling onto the E2 platform. Potential for additional E2/C2 analysis tasking for other program initiatives. Must be able to rapidly and efficiently provide documentation of analysis results and generate technical reports and CDRLs. Shift: 1st; workweek: 9/80
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE: Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering from an accredited university and at least 14 years of Flying Qualities/Flight Controls analysis experience. Must be able to reduce, review, and analyze flying/handling qualities data acquired during flight tests including 6-DOF off-line simulation analysis effort. Ability to evaluate flight test data required. Knowledge and experience with Matlab required. Preferred Qualifications: Master's degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering from an accredited university and at least 14 years of Flying Qualities/Flight Controls analysis experience. Prior experience in the unique environment of naval aircraft design is preferred. Prior experience with the Northrop Grumman E2 and/or C2 aircraft is also preferred. Prior FORTRAN experience desirable. Prior flying qualities/handling qualities and/or flight controls experience in the unique environment of naval aircraft design preferred. Prior experience with flying qualities/handling qualities analysis associated with the incorporation on an aerial refueling system and turboprop aircraft a plus. Prior knowledge and experience with Simulink, CONDUIT, and CASTLE (NAVAIR) software and developing custom algorithms a plus. Prior experience in wind tunnel test, test data analysis, simulation analysis, and flight demonstration & validation test a plus.
