Description: PDS Tech is seeking a candidate for QualityInspector II position located in Chandler, AZ area. Perform inspection functions, including those in which detailed information is not provided. May determine methods and sequences needed to make or verify setups to inspect in-process or final electronic or electro-mechanical assemblies, subassemblies, or systems. Responsible for accepting, and rejecting product based on Purchase Order requirements, Statements of Work, First Articles per AS9102, drawings and data packages. Candidate will prepare reports and maintain records as required. Candidate must be proficient at planning /organization, and decision-making skills and be able to follow continuous improvement initiatives to support Receiving & Inspection performance goals. This position requires prolonged periods of sitting, standing, walking and the ability to lift and carry 50 lbs for short distances. Helps in the daily housekeeping of the area and equipment to comply with Foreign Object Damage control requirements, and other duties as directed by management
. Regular overtime past the normal 40 hour week is expected.
The ability to obtain "For Official Use Only" (FOUO) security clearance is required.
Additionally, the position may require some travel.
Education High School Diploma or General Education Degree or equivalent experience is required. Experience and Required Skills • Must have a work history of overall quality inspection experience with (3) or more continuous years with demonstrated knowledge of high reliability workmanship standards with hardware/interfaces typical of the high tech industry. • Knowledge of AS9100 (or equivalent) and other related standards. • Hands-on knowledge of inspection methods and techniques • Experience using Hand Tooling such as Micrometers, Dial Calipers, and Height gage. • Must be able to read Drawings and have a working understanding of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerance. • The ability to work effectively with inspectors both in-house and at Supplier locations. • Should have a demonstrated ability to work with minimal oversight and in a multi-discipline team environment, providing insight and solutions to complicated issues both technical and procedural. • Must possess written and oral communications, along with interpersonal skills that aid in achieving both primary and multi-departmental goals. • Work related experience should demonstrate increasing levels of responsibility. • Efficient using Excel, Word, and Lotus Notes/Out Look. • Certification in IPC-A-610 (Acceptability of Electronic Assemblies) • Certification in IPC-A-600 (Acceptability of Printed Boards) • Certification/Knowledge in IPC/WHMA-A-620 (Requirements and Acceptance for cable and Wire Harness Assemblies) is a plus • Experience working with TipQa and CostPoint software is a Plus • Proficient at planning /organization, and decision-making skills Security Clearance • Ability to obtain 'For Official Use Only' (FOUO) required. • Must be able to pass a background investigation.
