PDS Tech, Inc. is seeking a Project Engineer in Hazelwood, MO.
Project Engineers work within an engineering team and are responsible for delivering on customer requirements in an IPT environment. Project Engineers collaborate internally with multi-disciplined teams to launch production of complex structures. A successful Project Engineer is hands-on and has strong technical and mechanical background. These skills, combined with flexibility, a problem-solving orientation, solid communication skills and attention to detail, enable successful program implementation.
Supervises and develops employees to ensure timely and successful completion of projects and new product introductions in accordance with below responsibilities. Demonstrates core cultural competencies to subordinates. Provides challenging and stretching tasks and assignments.
Develops project objectives by reviewing project proposals and plans; conferring with program management.
Determines project responsibilities by identifying project phases and elements; assigning personnel to phases and elements; reviews bases of estimates from IPT Leads.
With Systems Engineering, develops project specifications from customer requirements and flow downs, industry standards and best practices; completes technical studies; prepares cost estimates.
Confirms product performance by designing and conducting tests
With IPT Leads, develops project schedule by studying project plan and specifications; calculating time requirements; sequencing project elements.
With Master Scheduler, maintains project schedule by monitoring project progress; coordinating activities; resolving problems.
Controls project and engineering plan by reviewing design, specifications, and plan and schedule changes; recommending actions.
Controls project costs by approving expenditures.
Prepares project status reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends; recommending actions.
Maintains safe and clean working environment by enforcing procedures, rules, and regulations.
Maintains product and company reputation by complying with federal and state regulations.
Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
Interfaces with teams in different parts of the organization, including Information Technology, Engineering, Supply Chain and Finance to foster the integration of data and business processes.
DOD Secret Clearance is required for consideration
B.S. degree in Mechanical or related Engineering discipline. Master’s degree preferred. Combination of education and experience may be considered in lieu of degree.
Experience and Qualifications
Three to five years of experience in a Supervisory or Senior Engineering role
Five to seven years of experience in manufacturing or engineering, working with Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s)
Experience with document examination, such as engineering drawings, change orders and specifications to verify conformance.
Previous responsibility for developing and executing within budgets
Previous exposure to product design, verification testing, and customer support.
Previous experience in an IPT environment, preferably as a IPT Lead or Cost Account Manager (CAM)
Demonstrated ability to interact with customers and suppliers
Experience in a rapid paced, time sensitive, high quality environment
Ability to interact with people at all levels of responsibility.
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Proficient with MS Office Tools (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
Frequently required to spend long hours sitting at a work stations and using office equipment.
May be required to walk or stand for brief periods
May be required to use stairs when elevator is not available
May occasionally lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move up to 25 pounds of office supplies and materials
May be required to reach with arms and hands and to stoop, kneel or crouch
