Chipton-Ross is seeking an Aircraft Mechanic - Army C-12-DIRECT HIRE located in Rapid City, SD
RESPONSIBILITIES: Troubleshoots, repairs and services aircraft and engine systems. Conducts diagnosis of malfunctions. Performs maintenance, disassembly, rework, repair, replacement, re-assembly or adjustment of various aircraft systems in accordance with technical specifications, engineering instructions, and FAA regulations. Maintains FAA required records, manuals and inspection forms.
The Aircraft Mechanic is required to maintain all aircraft/systems in accordance with and within the limitations of the FAA and the aircraft manufacturer.
The Aircraft Mechanic reports directly to the Lead Mechanic on a day-to-day basis. When traveling to other sites to perform assigned duties, he/she would then report to the Fleet Manager.
Must be able to climb ladders, stairs and portable stands and navigate these without assistance. Must be able to work at heights 70 feet above the ground. Must be able to work in extreme heat/cold. Must be able to work in the following environmental conditions: noise, vibration, proximity to moving mechanical parts, moving vehicles, electrical current, chemicals, odors, dust. Must be able to bend, reach, stoop, balance, push, pull, kneel, grasp, crouch, crawl, work in narrow aisles/passageways, and work in close spaces that restrict movement including aircraft fuel tanks for extended periods of time. Must be able to stand for sustained periods of time. Must be able to work primarily with fingers such as picking, pinching, typing. Must have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as: preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; extensive reading; visual inspection involving small defects, small parts, and/or operation of machines (including inspection); using measurement devices; and/or assembly or fabrication parts at distances close to the eyes. Must be capable of routinely performing industry standard ambidextriosities required to complete tasks. Must be able to lift/maneuver up to 50 pounds. Must be able and willing to enter and work in confined spaces, such as aircraft fuel tanks and beneath floor panels with clearances of 18" - 24". Work hours may be adjusted for operational requirements.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: o Must have the ability to communicate clearly and concisely. o Must be able to travel to other locations requiring overnight stay. o Must be able to lift 20 pounds routinely and 50 pounds on occasion.
Work Environment: Environmental conditions are diverse and could range from an office environment where there is no physical discomfort to an environment where inclement weather may subject individuals to severe changes in temperature, less than adequate lighting, dust and wind. On occasion individuals may be required to work in areas where high noise hazards will prevail and hearing protection is required. Office work conditions will expend approximately 10% of the candidate's time and approximately 90% will be expended in more harsh conditions. REQUIRED EXPERIENCE: The Aircraft Mechanic is responsible for, but not limited to: o Inspect and certify aircraft at specific intervals as required by L-3, Government, and the FAA. Ensure inventory spares and materials to include receiving, usage, reporting, shipping, transfer, scrap, and replenishment are handled using established company procedures. o Ensure timely submission of required reports and documents to Program Management and the Government. o Ensure that the site assigned company and Government owned/operated/possessed items are maintained. o Ensure required entries are made in the aircraft logbooks, configuration records, site records and Management Information System (MIS). o Ensure compliance with quality and safety procedures/operations at the site level. o Ensure company rules (Client ASD Work Rules), standards, regulations, and policies are adhered to, enforced, and initiate actions to correct infractions. o Advise the Fleet Manager/Site Supervisor promptly of unresolved or developing problem areas. o Perform Collateral Duties and Responsibilities, as assigned by the site Lead/Supervision. o A FAA Airframe and Powerplant license. o A minimum of three (3) years recent hands on airframe and powerplant experience. o A minimum of one (1) year of King Air hands on experience. Note: The one (1) year of King Air experience may at the Program Manager discretion be waived if the candidate has demonstrated proficiencies in comparable areas.
EDUCATION: Accredited High School Diploma or equivalent
