Drafting/Designing Assoc

PDS Tech is seeking a candidate for the Drafting/Designing Associate position located in Tuscon, AZ.  
This position is for a Integrated Computer Aided Designer (Tech Support Engineer II) responsible for developing conforming technical data packages on assigned projects.
Responsibilities include conceptualizing and detailing design efforts; be held accountable for meeting project schedules, budgets and quality; support ICADS common processes and procedures; identifying and communicating risks; coach and mentor team members and provide weekly status.
This person will be required to work closely with mechanical and electrical engineers ensuring that ICADS technical requirements and Program documentation requirements are defined and met.
This position requires extensive technical expertise and knowledge of manufacturing processes, electro/mechanical assembly and configuration management.
This position will require frequent interaction with senior level engineers, manufacturing planners, and other designers.
Responsibilities for this position include:
• Perform to the quality, schedule, budget, and performance requirements of all tasks.
• Develop and release conforming technical data packages
• Responsible for supporting Electrical and Mechanical Engineers in the design of electrical/mechanical test equipment (Chassis, fixtures, cables).
• Communicate with other team members and functional groups
• Implements the standardization and deployment of common Design/Drafting processes, practices and procedures
• Lead by example by being a champion of respect, diversity and inclusion, and ethical conduct within the organization
• Implement company policies and practices to ensure compliance with EH&S policies to provide a safe and secure environment
• Brings knowledge of tools, processes and enablers that can be used to ensure employee and program success

Required Skills:
• Minimum of two (2) years in Electro/Mechanical design, with strong configuration management experience
• Good communication skills – written and verbal
• Experience with Microsoft Office Suite and Microsoft Project or other component completion tools
• Experience and proficiency with AutoCad 2010
• Proficiency with ProE solid modeling tool, preferably Wildfire 4.0
• Experience and proficiency with PDM and ProE Intralink
• Experience and proficiency with the application of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) per ANSI Y14.5
• Ability to obtain DoD issued Security Clearance
• Strong interpersonal and communications skills (written and verbal).
• Strong team player

Desired Skills:
• Familiarity with both test and manufacturing operations
• Familiarity with machining processes and practices
• Familiarity with electrical assembly processes and practices
• Knowledge and understanding in the application of military and commercial design standards
• Proficient with ECAD and MCAD design
• Active DoD issued Security Clearance
