Mechanical Engineer III

PDS Tech Inc. is seeking a Mechanical Engineer III, in Louisville, CO

  • Understand, plan, and execute technical activities in accordance with SNC policies, procedures, and work instructions and specific Customer requirements
  • Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings and schematics
  • Originate specifications, control documents, verification and validation plans, procedures, reports, or other documentation in support of design and development activities
  • Work with other Engineers to implement operating procedures, resolve system issues and provide technical information
  • Prepare material for, and conduct, periodic design reviews
  • Ensure conformance of products with Engineering design and performance specifications
  • Execute engineering design and development activities consistent with Customer quality, cost, and schedule requirements
  • Conduct research that test and analyze the feasibility, design, operation and performance of equipment, components and systems
  • Estimate costs and submit bids for Engineering
  • Generate and launch Engineering Change Notices (ECN) with associated documentation into Configuration Management (CM) system

Work closely with manufacturing engineering to:
  • Ensure product manufacturability, testability and supportability
  • Plan production fixtures, test procedures and test equipment
  • Prepare material for, and conduct periodic design reviews
  • Execute engineering design and development activities consistent with Customer quality, cost and schedule requirements
  • Ensure that all specifications, designs and developments adhere to SNC standards and customer requirements
  • Provide support in the development and maintaining of configuration baselines for systems and sub-systems

Education, Experience and Skills Required:
  • Requires a BS or MS in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering
  • 6-10 years of relevant experience
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to rapidly work with minimal supervision on projects involving both small and large engineering teams
  • Project definition, mechanical systems design, implementation, development and test
  • Must be able to work in a highly collaborative, fast paced environment with emphasizes in rapid prototyping and fielding of capabilities
  • CAD experience with Siemens NX, PTC CREO or Solidworks
  • Must have experience with designing mechanisms, preferably for space applications
  • Must be able to read, interpret and create engineering drawings
  • Minimum Fundamental Knowledge, Skills and Abilities as stated in SNC’s Responsibility Matrix.


  • Military contracting and working to MIL and ASME specifications for both drafting criteria and documentation of design efforts
  • Geometric dimensioning and tolerancing course (ASME Y14.5M) certification
  • PTC Windchill Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) software

Essential Functions:

  • Minimum physical requirements to perform all duties and responsibilities, as defined by management
