Principal Structures Engineer

Description:
• Technical focal for all aspects of structural integrity of the aircraft which include load path development, certification considerations, initial sizing, manufacturing, and testing.
• Complete understanding of latest structural static, durability and damage tolerance requirements for Part 25 certification. Credentials to perform finding of compliance against, at minimum, FAR 25.305, 25.307 and 25.571 or equivalent EASA/TCCA regulations.
• Develop efficient and accurate certification plan for aircraft under 14 CFR Part 25. Develop and define means of compliance with company, customer and regulatory requirements.
• Develop well organized project proposals, project specific certification plans and project schedules.
• Lead all aspects of analysis methods development for the Aerion structures organization, using classical techniques, hand calculations and/or FEM.
• Establish strategies for maintenance program, inspection intervals and inspection methodologies.
• Support new business development, trade studies and proposal activities.
• Support design reviews with IPT teams and partners/suppliers.

Requirements:
• Minimum Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering. Master’s Degree strongly preferred.
• 15+ years of experience in performing stress analysis, developing analysis methods, approving test plans and test results.
• 5+ years of experience in finding means of compliance for Part 25 aircraft.
• Must have demonstrated leadership capabilities.
• Must have Part 25 DER credentials
• Demonstrated success in dealing and influencing internal and external stakeholders
• Strategic thinker with very strong decision making and communication skills.
• Highly self-motivated with a strong bias for action, and excellent problem-solving skills across multi-disciplinary skill sets.
• Experience in a global environment working with customers and suppliers.
