Assembly Technician - MA

Chipton-Ross is seeking an Assembly Technician for an opening in Tewksbury, MA.

Assemble a variety of electrical and mechanical instruments per work instructions as an active member of a production cell
Conduct basic functional testing and in-process visual inspection of parts, sub-assemblies, and instruments
Indicate errors on work instructions and suggest changes to written work instructions, processes, and procedures
Perform transactions in MRP systems and support inventory management as required
Participate in equipment management, testing, and calibration as related to operations requirements
Perform rework, reassembly, failure analysis, and projects as required per instructions
Cross train and perform in other functional roles and stations in the production cell as required
Perform training of staff on new or revised procedures
Adhere to ISO9000 requirements; work instruction adherence, ESD, area cleanliness, maintenance and calibration
Adhere to PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) requirements of the job function
Participate in daily team stand-up meetings; communicating daily challenges and/or ideas
Participate in improvement events (such as Kaizen, 5S, Practical Process Improvement)
Maintain a safe working environment and follow established 5S procedures

Up to 1 year of related experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment
Ability to work under limited supervision and complete assignments with limited instruction
Ability to anticipate and plan for an active production schedule
Good manual dexterity is required. (e.g. grasping, holding, picking, placing, twisting, fine manipulation)
Experience working with a microscope and magnification tools.
Good computer knowledge and math skills a must
Familiarity and ability to perform operations in Microsoft Word and Excel
Ability to work in a team environment and build working relationships with co-workers
Familiarity with concepts of Lean Manufacturing a plus
Ability to sit or stand at workbench for extended periods of time; bend, stoop, reach, turn as required
Must use hands for extended periods of time while assembling

Accredited High School Diploma/GED
