MECHANICAL ENGINEER (with Aerospace experience)

Description:
This position will support mechanical analysis projects supporting aircraft weapon system programs. Specifically, the engineer will provide analyses, planning and draft documentation to address mechanical, electrical or avionics systems safety, suitability, and effectiveness requirements. The engineer will perform Failure Mode and Effects Analysis, Subsystem Hazard Analysis, engineering and configuration analysis, and develop engineering technical requirements for aircraft mechanical, electrical or avionics system components. Tasks include but are not limited to engineering evaluation, analysis, and recommended disposition of technical assistance requests for aircraft mechanical, electrical or avionics systems. The engineer will use SolidWorks or other CAD programs to create 3D models of aircraft mechanical, electrical or avionics components. The engineer will develop and manage large MS Excel spreadsheets. The engineer will write technical reports detailing analyses in MS Word as well as Adobe Pro. This position may be tasked to support similar duties on various other USAF weapon systems.
Required Skills & Experience
Bachelor’s Degree in a Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering discipline from an accredited University with six (6) years of experience.

Preferred Qualifications:
Master’s Degree in Engineering
Experience working on aircraft (Civilian/Military) mechanical, electrical, or avionics systems

Desired Skills & Experience
The ideal candidate will have:
Aircraft systems experience
Knowledge of finite element analysis techniques and SolidWorks or AutoCAD
Ability to interpret failure data from multiple DOD maintenance databases
Develop and manage large MS Excel Spreadsheets
Coordinate with other technical personnel in solving technical problems, gathering information, cost estimates and specifications
Compile and prepare comprehensive technical report
Work in a team environment and possess good communication skills, both written and oral
