6 Structural Design Engineers Needed

Description:
General Summary:

Structures Designer Engineering will serve in a design role and be responsible for conceptual design developing drawings and supporting documents i.e. parts list checklist, EOs. Will support design reviews and PDRs/CDRs.

Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Generates engineering models, drawings, parts list and EO utilizing CATIA V5
2. Implement industry best engineering practices (design for manufacturing, design for reliability and design for maintainability)
3. Will help to achieve company objectives including cost, weight, project sustaining, on production, or new product development.
4. Familiarity with structural analysis methods, load paths, and material properties
5. Manages task execution to ensure on-time and on-target completion
6. Perform tolerance and deviation studies. Define detail parts dimensional requirements to meet final design intent.
7. Utilizes drafting and Geometrical Dimensioning and Tolerancing knowledge to optimize the design for cost and producibility
8. Working knowledge of metallic aircraft construction including primary structure, materials processes and tooling.
9. Able to communicate with others in a respectful manner and acknowledge their concerns and suggestions
Education, Work Experience, Certification and/or Licensure:

1. Bachelor degree in Mechanical Engineering or related engineering discipline preferred but experience can used in lieu of education
2. Minimum of 5 years of primary and secondary structural design experience
3. Must possess a minimum of 2000 hours of experience with Catia V5

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

1. Knowledge of AMSE Y14.5 dimensioning and tolerancing
2. Possess strong communication skills both verbal and writing skills conducting presentations to internal and external customers
3. Experience with Catia V5
4. Working knowledge of full life cycle drawing approval process including communication with manufacturing, stress, CM, and quality
5. Proficient in Microsoft Office Products

Physical Requirements:
1. Incumbents may be routinely exposed to equipment operational noise heat-cold-dust, and/or aircraft equipment, parts, or fuel odors.
2. Incumbents may be required to stand, sit, squat, walk, bend, climb ladders, move, reach, or stretch for prolonged time periods with no restrictions, as required by job duties.
3. Work in a safe and professional manner while adhering to all regulatory requirements (FAA, OSHA, DOT, EPA, State, and Federal regulations, etc.).
4. Read, hear, speak, and see with no restrictions, as required by job duties.
5. Comprehend and adhere to management directions and/or safety instructions with no restrictions.
6. Effectively communicate in Business English language.
7. Pull, push, carry, lift, or move items up to 10 lbs. throughout the work shift without assistance, as required by job duties.
8. Pull, push, carry, lift or move materials/people/items/equipment weighing up to 50lbs or more during the work shift, with the use of Company provided 'reach assistance technology' or 'movement assist technology' (fork-lifts, pallet jacks, pulleys, dolly's, robotics reach equipment, people movers etc.), as required by job duties.
