Propulsion Flight Test Engineer

This position is located in Nagoya, Japan.

Designated Propulsion Flight Test Unit Engineer for Propulsion Unit, Aircraft Integration Department, Engineering Division
The responsible Engineer will work and lead activities of the Flight Test for Propulsion Unit 3. This will include interfacing with other aircraft functions and engineering teams to coordinate and obtain the approval of any task assigned contributing to the aircraft Propulsion Flight Test. This role requires interface with multiple disciplines and departments.

Scope of Work:
  1. This Engineer will work as a team member of Unit 3 (Propulsion).
  2. Basic work scope is to develop and finalize MRJ-200 (MRJ-90) T/C design, compliant to all Propulsion Flight Test activities.
  3. This activity includes;
    1. Prepare flight test plans to demonstrate compliance to airworthiness regulations of JCAB, FAA and EASA.
    2. Coordinating integration of testing activities originated from Powerplant and Fuel System requirements when required.
    3. Providing trouble shooting support, flight test planning and oversight of flight test activities.
    4. Conduct risk analysis associated with flight testing for Propulsion systems

  4. All tasks required to perform above activities are considered within work scope; initiating/ reviewing related documents, technical calculation, interface discussion with the team members and all the other stakeholders including systems, structures, manufacturing, customer support, and partners.
  5. Provide plans and methods of compliance for Propulsion Flight Test compliance activities and work with suppliers and Manager to establish the consensus best practice for system final design and certification. 

  • Exp in planning overall flight test schedule Flight Test management
  • 10-15 years work experience in aircraft industry preferred Understanding of overall aircraft development ( e.g Maintenance engineer/coordinator) Understanding of FAR 25 a plus
  • Bachelors Degree in Engineering
  • International experience desirable. 
  • Must be able to stay in Japan a minimum of 3-5 years or until final certification.
