Specialist, Contract Specialist

General Summary: 
The Support Contract Specialist plays the lead role in support contract development and execution for the Customer Service organization. The primary internal customers will include Service Parts, Customer Programs and Technical Support departments. 
Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Coordinate with internal business units to determine the objectives and requirements related to supplier selection, support contract development or contract amendment
  • Negotiate contract terms and conditions, considering the relative value of any changes proposed. 
  • Track deliverables and report to management on supplier contract status.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact on contractual matters between the Customer Service business unit, Supply Chain management and Suppliers.
  • Assist Supply Chain Management team in development of Master Purchase Agreements.
  • Develop and oversee internal contract administration processes and procedures.
  • Coordinate with the company Legal team to maintain contractual records and
    documentation in accordance with record retention policies.
  • Maintain, track and communicate contract terms and pertinent supplier information to all relevant parties in the Customer Service division.
  • Monitor supplier performance to ensure all contract service levels are being met.
  • Maintain communication on performance with affected stakeholders.
  • Ensure that obligations to suppliers are met in accordance with contractual agreements.
  • In conjunction with other divisions, coordinate periodic Program Management Reviews with key supplier-business partners.
  • Manage contract variations in accordance with contract provisions.
  • Promptly investigate and resolve disputes in accordance with contractual requirements.
  • Track contract dates to ensure they are extended, renewed or terminated as determined by then-current business objectives.
  • Work with the company Legal team in creating and maintaining boilerplate contract language for recurring use.
  • Monitor the industry for changes in competitive terms and conditions.
  • Participate in cost reduction initiatives and lead activities that require supplier participation.

Education, Work Experience, Certification and/or Licensure:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance or similar from an accredited four year college or university. *Equivalent industry experience may be accepted in lieu of the degree at the discretion of the hiring manager.
  • Master’s degree or advance degree preferred.
  • 3 years’ minimum of directly related contracts experience within the Aviation/Aerospace industry.
  • 3+ years’ of directly related experience in contract negotiations
  • Previous experience with SAP or similar ERP system preferred.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Familiarity with aircraft maintenance concepts, spare parts management, component reliability and cost-per-flight hour programs
  • Proficiency with Microsoft applications including Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
  • Strong attention to detail with proven ability to collect and analyze data.
  • Good project management skills.
  • Ability to multi-task in fast paced environment.
  • Ability to effectively communicate at all levels throughout the organization.

Physical Requirements:

  • Incumbents may be routinely exposed to equipment operational noise heat-cold-dust, and/or aircraft equipment, parts, or fuel odors.
  • Incumbents may be required to stand, sit, squat, walk, bend, climb ladders, move, reach, or stretch for prolonged time periods with no restrictions, as required by job duties.
  • Work in a safe and professional manner while adhering to all regulatory requirements (FAA, OSHA, DOT, EPA, State, and Federal regulations, etc.).
  • Read, hear, speak, and see with no restrictions, as required by job duties.
  • Comprehend and adhere to management directions and/or safety instructions with no restrictions.
  • Effectively communicate in Business English language.
  • Pull, push, carry, lift, or move items up to 10 lbs. throughout the work shift without assistance, as required by job duties.

Pull, push, carry, lift or move materials/people/items/equipment weighing up to 50lbs or more during the work shift, with the use of Company provided “reach assistance technology” or “movement assist technology” (fork-lifts, pallet jacks, pulleys, dolly’s, robotics reach equipment, people movers etc.), as required by job duties.
