ELECTRICAL ENGINEER - SYSTEM INTEGRATION ENGINEER -

Description:
Job Summary: Prepare avionics and electrical systems certification reports, ground test plans and certification plans for the T-6C aircraft. Generate statements of compliance for avionics and electrical systems supporting aircraft Type Certification to the requirements of 14 CFR Part 23 and EASA CS-23.

Responsibilities:
*Responsible for certification support of avionics and electrical systems on T-6C aircraft.
*Prepare certification plans, conformity requests, equipment qualification test plans/results, system safety documents, ground test plans/results and certification reports showing avionics /electrical systems compliance to the requirements of 14 CFR Part 23 and EASA CS-23.
*Evaluate and analyze avionics systems design for completion of function hazard assessments and system safety assessments.
*Participate in equipment, system, and aircraft ground testing
*Support investigation, root cause analysis, corrective action, and ODA/FAA coordination of aircraft field issues and component failures when warranted for certification concerns.

Requirements:
*5 to 10 years prior certification experience preparing compliance statements for avionics and electrical systems showing compliance with Federal Aviation Administration regulations 14 CFR Part 23 is required.
*Experience with the application of RTCA DO-160, DO178 and DO-254 relative to showing compliance for avionics/electrical systems installation on aircraft to the requirements of 14 CFR part 23 is required.
*Experience with use of electronic test equipment to verify proper operation/troubleshooting of avionics electrical systems is required.
*Strong computer, written and verbal communication skills are required.
*Experience with Microsoft Office Word, Excel, PowerPoint are required, Access and Project experience is desired.
*Time management skills are required to work multiple concurrent projects of various size and scope.

Desired:
*B.S. or advanced degree from an ABET accredited institution in Computer, Electrical Engineering or Engineering Technology is preferred.
*Prior certification experience preparing compliance statements for avionics and electrical systems showing compliance with EASA CS-23 is desired.
*Previous Avionics Electrical Systems FAA Designated Engineering Representative (DER) and/or, ODA Unit Member experience is desired.
*10 to 15 years of avionics/electrical systems integration experience on Part 23 aircraft is desired.
*Experience with the System Safety certification process per SAE ARP4754A and ARP4761 is preferred.
*Must be able to coordinate, communicate and develop good working relations with ODA Unit Members
*Design knowledge of electrical bonding criteria, thermal cooling requirements for electronic equipment, EMI shielding, and High Intensity Radiated Fields (HIRF) / Indirect Effects of Lightning (IEL) installation criteria is desired.
