The Corporation is seeking a talented individual to become an integral member of our Measurements team as a Project Engineer - Telematics and Data Engineering. In this role, you’ll be a member of a talented team of software & automation engineers to create smarter and connected automation solutions that accelerate our business. The Corporation has been creating innovative products that have forever changed the agricultural industry.

The Project Engineer - Telematics and Data Engineering will primarily be a project lead capable of leading a multi-disciplined design team throughout the project lifecycle from concept proposal through detailed design, fabrication, testing, installation, and field support. The position requires expertise in key areas such as: people leadership, project planning, risk analysis, technical utilization, project execution, and connected systems development. The Project Engineer is expected to take a significant hands-on role in the software and electronics design, development, and documentation.

Required Experience:
BSc or MSc in Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Mechatronics, Computer Engineering, or related discipline
Project management including planning, status reports, information / data analysis and presentation of design research results.
3+ years’ experience in development of automation equipment or laboratory instrumentation (College experience in relevant course is applicable in lieu of industry experience).
3+ years of integration work with off the shelf cellular, satellite, and/or other wireless technologies to provide connectivity and telemetry for sensors or other devices.
3+ years’ experience with Embedded C, C++, Python, Bash, Linux, or similar languages/operating systems.
Experience leveraging cloud-based services such as the AWS suite (or similar).
Conduct regular code reviews to ensure product quality & knowledge in Test Driven Development
The drive & self-motivation to work in the fast-paced and challenging environment of new product development, with a proven track record of delivering results
Leverage subject knowledge, expertise and The Climate Corporation common solutions in own work in interaction with other parts of the The Climate Corporation organization
Experience in contributing to and leading multiple concurrent projects with shifting priorities
Key competencies required for this position include a strong mechanical aptitude, confidence in communicating with all levels of management, a high degree of organization and efficiency, strong drive, excellent team skills, ability to motivate others to achieve results, customer focus, and innovative problem solving skills
A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected
Travel and overtime may be needed

Desired Skills/Experience:
Desired competencies include familiarity with writing software to control pneumatics, electrical, and mechanical and the ability to interpret mechanical and electrical CAD drawings
Experience with dashboard design and development
Proven experience deploying production products and services
Ability to setup simulation to test software code in Matlab / Simulink
Have had experience in Cloud based technologies for data storage and processing.
Knowledge of and experience with agricultural equipment is preferred
