Senior Agile Release Manager

What does a great Senior Release Manager do? The Senior Agile Release Manager will own the Release Management lifecycle for multiple work streams which includes scheduling, coordinating and the management of releases. He/She will provide tools and services to help product management and development teams manage and deploy releases into the test and production environments.

The Senior Release Manager will ensure on-time, in-scope releases of software to multiple environments. He/She is required to manage schedules, risks, project change requests and monitor project milestones throughout the lifecycle of the project to drive to successful delivery.

Job Responsibilities:
• Work collaboratively with all participants in software development including supporting developers and testers as well as interfacing and communicating with Test Managers, Development Managers/Directors, IT Operations and Executive Leadership
• Manage project interdependencies to ensure feature readiness
• Manage risks and resolve issues that affect release scope, schedule and quality
• Conduct release readiness reviews and go/no-go meetings
• Report on project milestones, deliverables, dependencies, risks and issues
• Work with release engineers to coordinate and understand change impact
• Lead and coordinate the Go-Live activities including the execution of the deployment plans
• Coordinate cross-functional working sessions to define team-level work items for a release
• Lead release-level retrospectives to drive improvements across delivery and deployment
• Provide regular, efficient communication to all levels of management
• Coordinate work and dependencies between teams/stakeholders at different locations
Basic Qualifications for Consideration:
• 5 years expertise and leadership in Release Management
• 5 years’ experience with full product lifecycle and advanced knowledge of development lifecycle
• 5 years working with business stakeholders within a cross-functional, matrix environment
• Experience in agile methodologies, trends and best practices
• Self-motivated, decisive with the ability to adapt to change and competing demands
• Highly organized and analytical
• Ability to motivate and manage others
• Must be capable of working in a fast-paced, corporate environment
• Excellent leadership, communication (written, verbal and presentation) and interpersonal skills
