Manufacturing Engineer

Description:
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Working with design engineering and fabrication team to develop statements of work, review drawings for manufacturability, coordinate meeting with suppliers for progress updates, update internal metrics and present to leadership.
o Support development of tooling packages for supplier bid process through procurement group.
o Read and analyze complex GD&T drawings and help analyze existing drawings to identify shortcomings or missing information.
o Track supplier performance and answer all technical questions related to the manufacturing of tools.
o Utilize computer-aided design (CAD) equipment to support suppliers in manufacturing of tooling.
o Identify design errors, omissions, and other deficiencies, and recommend revisions and/or improvements in tool design layout to fellow responsible engineers or designers.
o Interact with design and development teams (teams include specialists in Design, Analysis, Quality, Materials, Manufacturing) to meet all design tooling requirements (technical, cost, schedule) o Support Continuous Improvement activities o Support activities related to estimating, RFQ/RFP/RFI, and ROM pricing.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor's in Science in engineering and 5+ years of experience.
Manufacturing engineering knowledge, machining knowledge, GD&T, process improvement, working with suppliers.
Identify opportunities for continuous improvement with a focus on customer service excellence o Experience with MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) o Proficiency with GD&T best practices o Must be a self-starter and possess strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work independently and as part of a team o Experience with tooling design, mechanical assemblies and manufacturing is a plus o Oral and written communication, computer, documentation, and presentation skills are required o Ability to prioritize and manage time effectively

PREFERRED:
Project management, technical writing experience.
Composite experience is a plus.
CAD solid modeling (experience with NX/CATIA) and drafting experience are a plus.

EDUCATION:
Bachelor's in Science in engineering is required.
School must be accredited.
