Electronics Technician - Sr 1

PDS Tech, Inc. is seeking  an Electronics Technician - Sr 2, in Melbourne, FL.
  • Under limited supervision, performs a variety of highly technical, moderately complex tasks which require a substantial understanding of all technical objectives.
  • Perform as member of a technical team utilizing effective communication skills, including leadership role.
  • Actively participates in team decision making.
  • Establishes new approaches and techniques to achieve continuous improvement in all work processes.
  • Utilizes normal and complex test or diagnostic equipment.
  • Uses software tools for data analysis and reporting.
  • Understands technical resources available to assist in performance of duties.
  • May provide support/instruction to less experienced technical personnel.
  • Conducts engineering tests and detailed experimental testing to collect and analyze design data or otherwise assist in general research and development work.
  • Works from limited documentation, schematics, diagrams, notes, prints and layouts.
  • May participate in hiring process.
  • Applies electronic theory to configure, model, layout, build, test, troubleshoot, determine solutions and modify electronic product for engineering efforts applicable to the department or program charter.

  • Associate's Degree in applicable technical field or three years related experience plus two years related experience. 
  • Analysis - Demonstrates the ability to provide a general analysis of a problem or situation.

  • Customer Service Orientation - Generally applies fundamental service techniques and adheres to proper customer procedures when interacting with customers.

  • Follow-up - Demonstrates the expected level of follow through with internal or external customers. 
  • Listening - Exhibits good listening skills and identifies verbal and non-verbal situations fairly well. 
  • Relationships - Displays a compassionate attitude toward the needs of others. 
  • Time Management - Maintains a daily to-do list which helps to prioritize schedule

  •  Candidate should have RF knowledge in analog or microwave frequencies.
  • Must be proficient in the use of network analyzers, spectrum analyzers, signal generators, frequency counters, and power measurement equipment.
  • Must be able to apply application of electronic theory to configure, model, layout, build, test, troubleshoot, determine solutions and modify electronic product for engineering efforts applicable to the department or program.
  • 6+ years experience with Radar troubleshooting and repair experience.
  • Physical Requirement: May be required to lift/move heavy parts and/or equipment weighing up to 55 pounds. Must be able to comply with personal equipment standards as they apply to manufacturing. 
  • Safety Requirement: Fulfill all Environmental, Safety & Health requirements and act in a safe and environmentally responsible manner at all times. This includes, following all ES&H policies and procedures, acting on unsafe conditions and aiding Leadership in the attainment of ES&H initiatives and continuous improvement efforts.
