Contract Senior Software Test Engineer

Contract Senior Software Test Engineer
(US Citizenship Required*)
Bloomington, MN
• Participate in the design and development of systems software, software applications and/or tools for new programs and subprograms.
• Development, execution, and documentation of test cases
• Participate in internal review of software components and systems
• Receive general instructions and guidance from immediate supervisor and work on problems with defined scope, schedule and expectations
• Build stable working relationships internally
• Show initiative on assignments, and professionally execute projects with little direction
• Provide coaching and mentoring to junior test engineers

• Active DOD Secret Security Clearance is preferred at time of hire and or be obtainable within a reasonable timeframe. Applicants selected will be subject to a U.S. Government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.
• Travel may be required
• Areas of working knowledge:
o Write and understand code in C++
o Developing test scenarios based on requirements
o Machine-to-machine interfaces
o 1+ scripting languages (Bash, Perl, Python)
o Software development process
o Real Time Operating Systems
• Team player who thrives in collaborative environments and revels in team success, meeting and exceeding personal and team commitments
• Strong problem solving skills, organization, and attention to detail
• Technical writing and verbal communications skills

*US Citizenship is required by law, regulation, executive order, or government contract.

Education and Experience:
• Bachelor's Degree in software engineering or a related technical field is required (or equivalent experience), combined with a minimum of 5 years’ relevant experience; or Master's Degree combined with a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience.
• Preferred Experience:
o Avionics domain experience with Department of Defense contractor
o Agile development
