Systems Engineer V - (El Segundo) - TOP SECRET

ACTIVE TOP SECRET CLEARANCE REQUIRED TO START.

Senior Systems Engineer (Level 5) for the Mission Framework and Analytics (MF/A) Spacecraft Control Element (SCE) organization, supporting proprietary ground system development programs in a leadership role. The position is located in El Segundo, California with some support at the Seal Beach, California location.

The product engineer leads team members in gathering requirements pertaining to the constraints, standards, and strategy from all the stakeholders of a program. Leads team members in identifying and defining ground system capabilities both operational and functional. Conducts trade studies to determine system feasibility required to meet collected requirements. Leads team members in quantifying and reviewing performance requirements to determine internal consistency and feasibility and to ensure customer needs are met. Mentors team members. Leads and participates in reviews of program requirements to ensure all requirements are defined and met.

Primary Responsibilities:
• Lead team members in the analysis of performance and suitability of system components by developing and integrating performance budgets, and evaluating measures of effectiveness.
• Lead team members in establishing requirements and deliverables for modeling/simulation and analysis activities.
• Lead team members and ensures the alignment between Integration Verification and Validation (IV&V) plans with architecture capabilities and performance to achieve consistency in engineering approach, to mitigate risks associated with architectural decisions, and to meet customer expectations.
• Mentor team members in the analysis of system performance.

Required Skills:
• Experience in ground system systems engineering, including requirements analysis, design, and operation.
• Leadership experience in software integration and testing.

Preferred Skills:
• Leadership background in integrated systems for space mission management and command & control.
• Familiarity with Government programs & processes.
• Excellence in technical communication (written and verbal).

Bachelor's degree with 14 or more years' experience, Master's degreee with 12 or more years' experience or PhD with 9 or more years' experience. Bachelor, Master or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry.
